Trauma-Informed Somatic Practitioner

Guiding you home to your body, intuition and most authentic expression of Self.

Healing doesn’t have to be complicated

Healing is a lot simpler than many people make it out to be.

There is no secret sauce or magic, except for the magic of self-knowing and self-healing. My job is guiding you back to yourself. Everything we do together, I will teach you to do for yourself.

The stronger your felt sense or intuition muscle grows, the more you will trust yourself to make feeling-driven choices when faced with decisions, both small and large.

How do you want to feel? Let's move from that place.

The body has all the answers we are searching for.

In my personal journey with physical, mental and emotional health, coming back to the body and leaning into intuition has never led me astray. My clients learn to trust themselves, their intuition and the messages their body is constantly sending them, instead of relying on family, relationships or media to determine how they feel or proceed in the simplest moments and the most challenging parts of life.

In my full body approach to wellness, I draw from my 20+ year career in the performing arts, along with my experience as a:

  • Certified Holistic Health Coach

  • 15+ years as a Pilates, Functional and Restorative Movement teacher

  • Polyvagal and Trauma-Informed Somatic Movement Facilitator (Through the Embody Lab with Dr. Stephen Porges)

  • Sound Healer

WORK WITH COURTNEY

How I Can Help

  • From thinking and surviving to feeling and thriving.

How can you be present with others when you don’t know how to feel present with yourself?

Somatic experiencing teaches us to access our 5 core elements of human experience (Sensation, Image, Behavior, Affect and Meaning).

This is called a “bottom up” approach to not only process trauma but tackle the more simple and nuanced moments of life and relationship that tend to trip us up or have us spiraling ourselves into tight balls of stress.

Incorporating tools for nervous system healing like polyvagal theory and yoga nidra, I have witnessed clients make lasting changes in their life.

  • Reprogramming the body to return to balance.

In sound sessions I incorporate tuning forks, crystal bowls, chimes and ancient Tibetan bowls tuned to a variety of different healing frequencies. These are my physical tools, however, I don’t work alone. I call on my intuitive intelligence, spirit guides (mine and yours) and the messages embedded in your energy field to navigate the session.

Sound healing is a positively charged reprogramming of the water molecules, cells, nervous system, synapses and entire electrical system of the body. We are human antennas. We are continuously reacting, responding and resonating with the sounds, vibration and information our biofield is receiving.

Have you ever wondered why you feel “off” after interacting with someone who was in a bad mood or was giving off “bad energy?” Your biofield probably, unbeknownst to you, “tuned in” to that person’s biofield, leaving you zapped and depleted.

Even your thoughts have a vibrational tone. Likewise, trauma (both physical and mental) has an energetic tone. Oftentimes just one session of tuning the human biofield can have a drastic and palpable effect on trauma breakthrough. I recommend at least 3-10 sessions to integrate the work and completely reprogram all body systems to return to homeostasis.

  • You deserve to experience moving your body with ease and joy.

Utilizing my 15+ years teaching and training in multiple methods of movement including Gyrotonic, Pilates, Yoga and Dance my intention is to teach you to unwind your body with breath, energy and rhythm to a place of freedom from injury, chronic pain and mental induced physical stress.

Every day you wake up your body is different. You have shed cells and made new ones. Your connective tissues, muscles, nervous, respiratory, circulatory, digestive and endocrine systems have adapted to trillions of different stimuli from the day before.

My approach to movement supports the systems of the body and the specific need of the season you are in (in body, mind, spirit and lifespan).

Testimonials

  • "Courtney helped me understand my pain/trauma and by the end of the session my hip pain had mostly gone. The next day I ran 15 miles with very little pain for the first time in many years. If talking through your issues is not working for you or you want to try a more body focused therapy, I would highly recommend healing with Courtney."
